DESCRIPTION:
MI 00 301 is the standard formulation and is principally intended for automotive clutch applications.
Under normal operating conditions, MI 00 301 is a very reliable, hard wearing and economic material.
The glass fibre reinforcement yarn is spiral woven with fine copper core to produce a strong material
with good heat transfer properties. MI 00 301 facings combine high resistance to burst,
with smooth engagement.
SOME TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:
Clutch facings for cars and light commercial vehicles.
Brake blocks for presses.
ADHESIVES:
The use of any well known thermosetting adhesive is recommended.
RUBBING SURFACES:
Good quality, fine grained pearlitic cast iron with Brinell hardness of 150-200 is recommended.
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES:
Density g/cm3 .... 1.80 - 1.90
Hardness (SHORE-D) .... 70–80
Acetone extraction .... <1.5%
Ignition loss .... 38-44%
MECHANICAL PROPERTIES:
Resistenza allo scoppio
(200X137X 3.5)@200ºC .... >10.500 rpm
FRICTION PROPERTIES:
Friction coefficient (dynamic) µ
(See graph) .... 0.45 ± 0.05
Wear rate (@ 79N, 7m/s)
F.A.S.T .... 50 - 80mm3 /Kwh
FAST test conditions (max temperature)
The FAST is a 90 minute test at constant pressure and velocity, which reports response
of friction coefficient vs temperature . These are maximum temperatures resistance
before material lost coefficient.
F=79N v=7m/s t=90min .... <250ºC
F=100N v=7m/s t=45min .... <268ºC
F=100N v=11m/s t=25min .... <250ºC
Recommended operating temperatures (max) :
Continuous operation .... 250 ºC
Intermittent operation .... 350 ºC
µ (friction coefficient) vs temperature @79N/7 m/s
